Preparing you to receive the full suite of Alterna Savings products and services

This fall, we’re fulfilling our promise to bring you the entire suite of Alterna Savings products and services by moving your banking information and accounts onto the Alterna Savings banking system.

While we are excited to be at this point in our coming together, we understand that this change comes at a time when there is already so much change happening around us. Through it all, we’re here to help.

Whether you need help finding new ways to bank from the comfort of home, or solutions for those feeling the financial impacts of COVID-19 – this change to the Alterna Savings banking system will provide greater product selection and flexibility and more convenient ways to bank.

A new look

You will notice some fresh new changes inside your branch as we work towards opening your branches as Alterna Savings later this fall. You will also notice the Alterna Savings name on your ATM screens. Please note, until the banking system has been changed to the Alterna Savings banking system, there are no changes to your products, services, or ATM features.

What you can do now to prepare

Please ensure that your mailing address, phone number, and email address are up to date. Contact your branch to validate or update your information.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

The implementation of the Alterna Savings banking system begins after regular business hours on Friday, October 23 through to October 24 at 7:00 pm. During this period, there will be interruptions to and limitations on services, including ATMs.

Alterna’s online, mobile, and telephone banking is expected to become available to you by 7:00 pm on October 24.

Please be assured that we have worked very hard to keep the number of changes you will experience to a minimum; however, there are some changes you will want to be aware of. See the section “Changes that Impact You” in the brochure to learn more about what’s different.

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE?

You will want to review the brochure so that you can see how your portfolio is impacted by changes to:

  • product names
  • associated services within the product bundle
  • new services and products that you can leverage

Also, we’ve called out everything you can do in the brochure to prepare for the changes.


Following the banking system change

You’ll still be banking with the people you’ve come to trust, and you will now have the added benefit of greater product and service selection. Also, you will be able to visit any of the 33 Alterna Savings branches across Ontario for your banking needs, and, in the future, at three additional branches in the Quinte region.
