Meet Thomas, who's planning a vacation with his girlfriend Rebecca. He's paid upfront and now needs to request $580 from Rebecca since they've decided to share the costs. Let's see how Interac e-Transfer® can help.

Thomas opens his mobile banking app and logs into his account. He then navigates to Interac e-Transfer® Request Money. On Thomas's app, this is found in the side menu, but yours may have a slightly different name or location depending on your financial institution. On the Request Money screen, he taps to add Rebecca as a contact and adds her details, including an email address or mobile number. He then enters the amount of money he is requesting from Rebecca, adding an optional message to explain what it's for. Finally, Thomas selects the account he wants the money deposited into. One last check and that's it. He submitted the Interac e-Transfer® Request for Money.

Rebecca is notified immediately. She opens the email, checks the request and decides to accept. She selects a bank to send the money from, logs in and checks the details. She confirms which account to pay from, adds an optional message and the transfer is complete and confirmed.

The money is deposited directly into to Thomas' account. He's notified that the money has been received. Now they can both enjoy that well deserved vacation.

‘Autodeposit’, an Interac e-Transfer® feature designed to make receiving money even simpler. Let's see how it helps Philip, the organizer for a monthly dinner club. To pay their share, Philip's friends use Interac e-Transfer® so he has to enter a security answer for each transfer he receives.

Now there's a secure way to receive money without having to answer security questions for every transaction. The ‘Autodeposit’ feature automatically deposits money into a specified financial institution’s account. Let's see how Philip sets it up.

After opening his financial Institutions app and logging into his account, he navigates to ‘Autodeposit’. In Philip's case, it's found in the settings menu, but it can differ from financial institution to financial institution. To activate the feature, he enters his email address and selects the account he wants the money to go into. He saves the settings, follows the direction in the notification to check his email, and completes the registration.

The ‘Autodeposit’ feature is now set up. Now, when Philip's dinner friends send their share of the bill, it will be deposited into his financial institution account instantly and just as securely as ever before. He receives multiple notifications confirming the transfers have been received, allowing him to sit back and concentrate on the dessert.
