Twenty-seven Alterna members recognized through the CU Succeed Youth Bursary program

TORONTO, ONTARIO, November 4, 2026  – Alterna Savings is proud to celebrate 27 members who have collectively received $31,000 through the Ontario Credit Union Foundation’s CU Succeed Youth Bursary program.

The bursary program supports post-secondary students across Ontario. Awards range from $1,000 to $3,000 and help students experiencing financial barriers pursue academic, vocational or technical education. The bursaries recognize financial need, community involvement, personal circumstances and academic achievement.

Their dedication to education and community is inspiring, and we are honoured to celebrate their achievements and all that lies ahead.”

Since the CU Succeed Youth Bursary was established in 2016, the Ontario Credit Union Foundation has awarded $936,000 to 765 students. In 2026, the Foundation is distributing $100,000 through the program.

“Receiving a bursary can make a meaningful difference for a student, providing both financial support and encouragement as they work toward their goals,” said Rob Paterson. “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year’s recipients, whose determination, community spirit and bright potential are truly inspiring.”
