BACKGROUND

With nearly a decade of experience in the credit union and co-operative sector, Alexandra Leavey has dedicated her career to advancing financial inclusion through education. She specializes in developing educational resources tailored to the unique needs of underserved communities and the organizations that support them.

As Alterna’s Community Financial Education and Relations Manager, Alexandra manages the Community & Financial Inclusion Granting Programs, which support community organizations making meaningful impact. Additionally, Alexandra manages the Community Financial Education Program, which integrates with all of Alterna’s Community Impact initiatives to provide comprehensive support for members and community partners.

In recognition of her work, Alexandra received the 2023 Co-operators Young Leaders Award for delivering positive social impact through financial education and community relationship development.
